Spinnaker Microwave offers a series of Fixed
Frequency Oscillators which can be used as a DRO
replacement or a narrowband frequency source. Their advantages
include small size, lower power consumption, better microphonic
noise levels, and higher resistance to vibration when compared to
typical DRO's. Oscillators having a total frequency error (including
aging, pushing, pulling and temperature) of less than +/- 3 MHz have
been shipped in quantity. Most of these units are designed to have a
tuning range of 1 - 4% to facilitate use in a PLL or Synthesizer. As
an example of their performance, an FXD-555 has been locked in a PLO
circuit and exhibited a total integrated phase noise level from 100
Hz to 1 MHz of less than 0.15 deg RMS.
All models listed
below can be constructed in a connectorized module utilizing an internal heating element (less than 7 W at
-40 deg C). This will significantly reduce frequency drift due to
temperature variations.
